Instructions
Prepare the Tres Leches Mixture
Whisk together evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream in a bowl
Add a small amount of cardamom powder, taste, and adjust to your liking
Assemble the First Layer
Arrange ladyfingers tightly in a single layer in your serving dish
Trim ladyfingers to fill any gaps
Drench the ladyfingers with half of the milk mixture using a 1/4 cup measure
Add the Second Layer
Wait 10-20 minutes for the first layer to absorb the milk
Repeat the process with a second layer of ladyfingers
Use the remaining milk mixture to soak the second layer
Chill the Cake
Refrigerate the assembled cake for about 2 hours
Decorate and Serve
Whip heavy cream to stiff peaks
Spread half of the whipped cream evenly over the chilled cake
Optional: Color the remaining whipped cream and pipe decorative patterns
Garnish with crushed freeze-dried strawberries and chopped pistachios if desired
