Preparing The Cake Batter:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk.

Making The Cream Cheese Topping:

  • Beat cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.

Baking And Assembling The Butter Cake:

  • Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch cake pan.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
