- 1 can Crushed pineapple 20 oz / 567g
- 1 cup Sugar 200g
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 8 oz Cream cheese 226g
- 1/2 cup Butter 113g
- 4 cups Powdered sugar 480g
- 3 cups Pecans crushed (300g)
Bake the Cake
Prepare the white cake mix according to the package instructions.
Pour the batter into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake as directed on the package until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool completely.
Prepare the Pineapple Topping
In a saucepan, combine crushed pineapple (with juice), 1 cup of sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
Cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Assemble the Cake
Using the end of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cooled cake.
